Man Sues Cat Owner For “Viciously Attacked, Bit and Clawed”
A Homer Glen man named William Baxter claimed he was caring for Christine Bobak’s cat on April 22, 2011, at his home when the cat launched an unprovoked attack while he tried to feed it. Now, Baxter is suing Bobak for the pet that “viciously attacked, bit and clawed” him.
A report from the Southtown Star said:
Baxter filed a lawsuit against Bobak on March 22 in Will County Circuit Court seeking $50,000 on each of two counts.
According to the lawsuit, the cat “viciously attacked, bit and clawed” Baxter, who claims to have suffered serious injuries from a bite on his ring finger and the clawing of his left arm.
Bobak should have known the cat was dangerous, the lawsuit states, as it is believed to have attacked at least one other person before.
The lawsuit said both Baxter and Bobak lived in Homer Glen, at separate residences, at the time of the alleged attack.
A court appearance on the lawsuit is scheduled for July 10.
