Harold Drake Dies Of Cancer At Age 83
RIP Harold Drake. The Pacific Stars and Stripes reporter died Sunday in Australia at age 83. He had cancer.
Drake was a fearless reporter, covering the Vietnam War and traveling around Asia interviewing global stars. He officially retired in 1995.
Former Stars and Stripes news editor Ron Rhodes said:
“[Harold Drake] managed to find the human element in everything he wrote. And he was always a gentleman in the process.”
He is also survived by two sons who live in California.
