Drive-Thru For Funeral Procession For One Last Burger
David Kime Jr. considered the lettuce on a burger his version of healthy eating, said daughter Linda Phiel. So for the last time before he get was laid to rest, the funeral procession had to go through a drive-thru at a Burger King in York, Pennsylvania.
The restaurant manager prepared 40 burgers, according to ABC. All mourners got a sandwich for the road and Kime’s burger sandwich was placed atop his coffin at the cemetery.
“It’s nice to know he was a loyal customer up until the end — the very end,” Restaurant manager Margaret Hess said.
Kime, 88, was a World War II veteran. He died on January 20.
