Katie Couric asked the controversial Notre Dame linebacker, Manti Te’o, if he is gay. The question was based on rumors that perhaps the fake girlfriend story was a cover for Te’o’s sexuality.
“Are you gay?” Couric asked.
“No. Far from it. Faaar from that,” he said with a smile.
The interview also included listening to some taped phone calls from his fictitious girlfriend, Lennay Kekua.
“Doesn’t that sound like a girl?”, Te’o said to Couric.
