Accident At Gun Show Injures At Least 4 People
An accident at gun show in North Carolina resulted into at least 4 people injured. According to the police, a 36-year-old man, Gary Lynn Wilson, was unfastening the case of his 12-gauge shotgun on a table near the show entrance when it accidentally discharged.
The man planned to sell the shotgun at the show, according to CNN.
Joel Keith, chief of police of the North Carolina State Fair, said “I want to emphasize that this is an accident.”
Police are determining whether to file charges to Wilson or not. Sheriff Donnie Harrison said he was unsure whether it was legal to bring a loaded gun on state fairgrounds.
The gun show was closed after the shooting and will reopen Sunday.

Get the facts right. Only 3 injured, one a retired sheriff deputy hit in the hand by a couple of pellets from the shotgun (ie, birdshot), 2 admitted to hospital. The idiot who was bringing the gun into the show left it loaded and it fired while he was removing it from the case. Accidental discharge.
You have got to be kidding me. Every person whom owns a firearm should know proper break-down and transportation procedures. No ammo in the firearm until you are ready to shoot. Use some common sense people!
Well, I’m sure he won’t have his shotgun and other firearms for very much longer. Instant Feloney. This is all we gun activists and enthusiasts need; a person with no common sense to give the liberal media ammo to rebel against the Second Amendment and our right to defend ourselves.
Accidental discharge, sounds like a personal problem. Two different shows? That’s crazy…..then again, them types of people aint be to smart sometimes!
What kind of DUMBASS takes aLOADED gun into a building full of people ” GUNSHOW” another thing against SMART LEGAL GUN OWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All weapons at a gun show are checked at the entrance to insure they are unloaded. This miscreant who brought a loaded gun should definitely be charged with reckless endangerment because as a gun owner he should have known not to bring a loaded weapon.
How hard is it to check to make sure your weapon is not loaded? 16,290 people died in traffic accidents Jan – Jun 2012. Like guns, it’s carelessness and recklessness that produces the accidents and misuse of the apparatus rather than the fault of the apparatus that is to blame. Whether guns or cars, in the hands of the stupid, anything can happen. And stupid is hard to fix.
Accidents do happen – Get on with life . . .
