Batmobile May Fetch $5 Million At Arizona Auction
Holy cow! The batmobile may fetch $5 million when it goes to the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona this weekend. According to the LA Times, the car features a bulletproof Plexiglas bubbles on top, and it played a major role in the Batman TV series in the 50s and 60s. The series starred Adam West and Burt Ward.
The owner, George Barris, said that he had customized the 1955 Lincoln Futura into the Batmobile in 15 days at a $15,000 cost.
Selling the car is bittersweet for Barris. It’s been his trademark for years.
