Facebook Charges You $100 to Send Message on Facebook To a Famous Person
Is it true that Facebook charges you $100 to send a message on Facebook to a famous person — like, for instance, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg? In December, Facebook announced that it would be testing the pay-to-message feature, for a fee of just $1 if the person is not on your friend’s list. However, it turned out that the fee goes up when the person has many friends or when the person is popular (such is the case of Mark Zuckerberg).
Facebook spokesperson says, “We are testing some extreme price points to see what works to filter spam.”
Here is the message circulating on Facebook:
Facebook charges you $100 to send a message on Facebook to a famous person. If you’re sending a message to a random person on Facebook, they’ll charge you $1 to skip the spam filter and actually have the email delivered into the inbox.
But if the recipient has a lot of followers, Facebook will charge you $100. Facebook says they’re just testing the service to see if they can get away with it.
Will this feature work for you?
