Author Sol Yurick Dies At 87

Sol Yurick, the famous author of the 1965 novel “The Warriors,” died on Saturday in Manhattan. He was 87.

The book “The Warriors” was turned into a movie 14 years later, in 1979, under the direction of Walter Hill.

According to a statement from a family member, the cause of death was complications of lung cancer.
