Giant Squid Caught on VIDEO: Legend of the Kraken Unveiled

The giant squid that may have been the source of the Nordic legend of the kraken, has been caught on video, thanks to the researchers from Japan’s National Science Museum, the Japanese broadcaster NHK, and the Discovery Channel!

The giant sea monster can grow up to 26 feet in length. The video was captured at the depths of the Pacific Ocean, around 2,000 feet using a submersible in July. Its location is about 10 miles east of Chichi island in the north Pacific Ocean.

This is the first recorded footage of the giant squid in its natural habitat.
