Video Ad Network AdExcite Announces 2012 First Quarter Traffic
Today, AdExcite announced that traffic to its group of partner sites had increased to 57.1 million unique visitors in March, a gain of 9% since February. Traffic figures were verified by comScore, Inc., a leading source for digital business analytics. AdExcite, a video ad network, attributed the growth to an 80% increase in its number of partner web publishers since December 2011. The company added 145 partners in the first quarter of 2012.
The company now represents 325 web publishers who work with AdExcite to monetize their traffic by adding video advertisements to their sites. “AdExcite’s approach to delivering video ads is innovative. We can create a better user experience, get better results than preroll ads and deliver publishers substantially more incremental revenue,” stated Phil Banfield, CEO of AdExcite.
AdExcite specializes in delivering a proprietary high impact video interstitial unit, the vSlider. The vSlider can run on domains that are not otherwise set up to run video content. “AdExcite is effectively creating new sources of inventory among the previously idle segment of web publishers who have great editorial content but little to no video inventory,” said Banfield. vSlider units always appear above the fold and can be displayed without interfering with the display of content.
