Selected elite Navy SEAL members made it possible to storm Osama bin Laden’s hideout and kill him. The SEALs group is known as Team Six.

The Navy SEALs (which stands for Sea, Air, and Land) have their “origins in World War II when the United States realized that to invade Japan, it needed savvy, quick-thinking fighters who could perform reconnaissance at sea,” says Ashley Fantz at CNN.

And who are the members of the Team Six who killed Osama? We may not know it. Senior administration officials would not disclose the makeup of the team sent on the mission. “Be a quiet professional,” says Chris Heben, a former SEAL with 10 years of experience carrying out missions in Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan.

“There is no room for braggarts in the SEALs,” he said. “Talking hurts missions and gets people killed.”
