The New York tour bus accident on Saturday morning left 13 people dead. According to the driver who survived the crash, the bus was struck from behind by a tractor trailer as it entered the city around 5:30 a.m. The bus began swerving, toppled and crashed into the support post for a highway sign indicating an exit on Interstate 95.
In addition to the fatalities, six passengers were critically hurt, a Fire Department spokesman said. A total of 19 were being treated at area hospitals.
Police began a hunt for the truck, which did not stop after the crash.
