Cure For HIV on Berlin Patient
The patient Timothy Ray Brown is called the Berlin Patient who underwent a stem cell transplant in 2007 to cure his HIV. THe doctors believe that the HIV-positive man has now been cured of the disease. His doctors recently published a report in the journal Blood affirming the results of extensive testing.
Brown’s case paves a path for constructing a permanent cure for HIV through genetically-engineered stem cells.
