Black Ops Sales Hit Record Books

Call of Duty: Black Ops was released on November 9, 2010 and sales are amazingly high! Activision said that the game “has had the biggest entertainment launch in both the US and UK” with 5.6 million copies sold and $360 million in Black Ops sales the first day.”

To put that into perspective, look at these numbers of a list of the Top 5 highest grossing movies of all-time in terms of their Opening Day earnings [via]:

1. The Twilight Saga: New Moon – $72 million

2. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – $68 million

3. The Dark Knight – $67 million

4. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – $62 million

5. Spider Man 3 – $59 million

These five movies combined earned $328 million on their opening days. And, Call of Duty Black Ops sales beat them by $32 million.
