Homestead Air Show 2010

It’s the Homestead Air Show 2010 weekend! Jaw-dropping precision aerobatics will be highlighted against a backdrop of jet sound as the US Navy’s Blue Angels headline an all-star list of performers at the Homestead Air Reserve Base “Wings Over Homestead” air show Nov 6-7, 2010. The South Florida community will get a chance to see one of the finest aerial demonstration teams in the world and the 482 FW is proud they have elected to come to Homestead.

At the end of World War II, Chester W. Nimitz, then the Chief of Naval Operations, ordered the formation of a flight demonstration team to keep the public interested in naval aviation.

Today, the “Blues” fly the sleek F/A-18 Hornet which is now serving on the nation’s front lines of defense.

Additional plans for the second annual air show are beginning to take shape. As always, attendees will have the chance to experience everything from high-flying action in the air to interactive and family-friendly fun on the ground.

Last November after a 17 year absence, over 200,000 people packed Homestead ARB’s flightline to enjoy the return of the air show. Air show organizers believe the 2010 show will be an even bigger event that will attract larger crowds.
