Clinton Portis Comments to Ines Sainz

Early this week, reporter Ines Sainz complained that she was harassed by the New York Jets players and staff during a practice. While the situation is still hot, Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis gave his own thought. Clinton Portis comments focused on the idea that female reporters want football players — “You put a woman and give her a choice of 53 athletes, somebody got to be appealing to her.”

The NFL has already deemed the comments inappropriate, and have asked the Redskins to have a talk with their running back.

Portis issued an apology for his comments about Sainz and all other female reporters “I was wrong to make the comments I did, and I apologize,” the statement said. “I respect the job that all reporters do. It is a tough job and we all have to work and act in a professional manner. I understand and support the team on these issues.”
