Calvin Johnson Catch Not a Touchdown Says Rule
The NFL controversial rule has robbed the Detroit Lions a victory in the game against Chicago on Sunday. It would have been a big win for the Lions when receiver Calvin Johnson made a beautiful game-winning touchdown catch in the end zone. But the rule says “not a touchdown”, that it was incomplete.
The rule in question states, “If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.”

Actually, the rule says it was a catch.
To be considered an incompletion, the receiver must lose control of the ball before the ball hits the ground, or regain control before the ball hits the ground.
Calvin never lost control of the ball prior to it hitting the ground.
He controlled the ball, got two feet, his rear, and his hand down before the hand holding the ball hit the ground.
All the while demonstrating control and possession.
Catch, TD…
