2 shot to death at Lake Sammamish State Park
The incident happened about 9 p.m. at the park along Northwest Sammamish Road in Issaquah. State Patrol spokesman Cliff Pratt said the initial call came from a park ranger who heard shots fired.
“During his request, there were shots fired in the background of his radio traffic,” he said. “There was a call for all police agencies to help immediately.”
“We thought they were fireworks at first because there were so many in a row, like 15 or more,” park visitor Laura Thoren told KOMO-TV/4. “We didn’t pay that much attention to it until the cops that were nearby in the parking lot zoomed off to find out what was going on.”
The park remained locked down at 10 p.m.. and two people believed to be the shooters were taken into custody, according to the State Patrol.
