Oklahoma City Flooding Leads to Evacuations
You have seen the scenes on TV — people climbing on trees and hanging for dear life as flashfloods covered the Oklahoma metropolitan area. The recent Oklahoma city flooding has caused a state of emergency to be declared in 59 of the States’ 77 counties.
The National Weather Service said that almost 10 inches of rain fell between 2 and 11 a.m. A flash flood watch was extended across central Oklahoma through 7 a.m. CT Tuesday.
As of 5 p.m. Monday, Oklahoma Gas & Electric was reporting about 1,200 customers without power.
