Manhunt Called Off After Tinley Park Home Invasion
Two men are already in custody and the search for the four others was called off about noon Wednesday in a home invasion and apparent robbery of Abbas Darwish, 58, who lives with his wife and two sons in the 9100 block of Basswood Drive.
“We believe they are not still in the area,” Tinley Park Police Cmdr. Rick Bruno said.
The men broke into his home after apparently following him from the convenience store he owns in Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood.
Abbas Darwish, 58, lives with his wife and two sons. He suffered a broken nose, broken ribs and a punctured lung in the beating, said Fadi Rafati, the family’s lawyer and a nephew. Darwish was hospitalized in fair condition.
