The status update that got a student expelled from school came from a student of Brevard County School.

Several weeks ago, the student wrote something on his Facebook page about killing or getting his English teacher, Kathy Bowen, fired because he didn’t want Bowen to return from her medical leave.

Friends have said it was clear the student, who was chosen this year as the graduating senior with the “best humor,” was kidding around when he made the post.

But Bowen said she was worried about her safety, while the school district and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office launched investigations.
