There had been a Pentagon shooting at 6:40 p.m. Washington time. The shooting occurred at the Pentagon subway entrance in Arlington, Virginia. The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old John Patrick Bedell.

The shooting wounded two police officers but the injuries appeared to be non life-threatening.

Police are investigating whether a second person was somehow involved. No further information was available.
