You Won’t Believe How Easy It Is To Make Money From Selling Your Music

I’m sure many of you have watched your favorite musicians and wished you could share their success. So, you start making music and set off on your career. If you’ve got the talent, then there’s no reason you can’t succeed in the entertainment business. The only struggle is earning money when you don’t have a record contract.

However, I’ll help you get rid of this worry by showing you three ways you can make money from selling your music:

Digital Downloads

These days there are so many ways for people to listen to music. More often than not, they’ll do so by downloading it digitally. Then go to one of the many digital music stores and purchase songs and albums that they can download and listen to instantly. If you want to make money by selling your music, then you have to make it available for digital download. Selling your stuff on these stores can be relatively easy though the process may differ from store to store. I know that Apple makes you fill in an application if you want to sell your content via their store. Once you’ve got everything set up, it’s merely a process of uploading your songs and making them available to download. You can link people to your songs on social media, or if you have a YouTube page, you can link them in the description of videos.

Street Performing

Performing on the street is a fantastic way for you to sell your music to lots of people. Especially during the festive season when there will be loads of busy shoppers roaming about. Pick a good location near some popular shops and set everything up. You’ll need all of your equipment with you, including a microphone and some speakers. Then, you should bring a handful of CD’s with you to sell as you perform. Loads of companies like Nationwide Disc can help you make multiple CD’s in no time at all. You sing your songs and then have a little stall next to you where people can buy your CD if they like what they hear. You’re essentially advertising your music and selling it at the same time. You may be surprised how much money you can make during a busy shopping period through street performing.

Freelance Musician Work

Another way to make money from selling your music is to do some freelance musician work. There are sites like Upwork where you can sell your musical services to people. They can pay you to write a song for an advertising campaign or a jingle for their radio show. It’s different to the first two options as you’re not selling specific songs or albums. Instead, you’re being asked to create music and getting paid for it.  You’re still making money from selling music, and it’s a great idea if you have spare time to kill.

If you want to try and make it in the music business, then you have to make money. These ideas are so simple you won’t believe how easy it is to sell your music for cash.
