Cebu-Based Actor Albert Chan Paran Wins International Film Festival Manhattan 2015 Best Actor Short Award

Albert Chan Paran, an actor based in Cebu, Philippines, was recently named as the Best Actor winner for short films at the 2015 International Film Festival Manhattan, (IFFM) New York.

Paran played the lead role of an indie short film “Julie”. The film’s story was centered on the life of a gay man, Julian Capoy, who tried to find work to support his family and ended up as a construction worker. Clanch Dayve Belleza wrote and directed the film.

Last month, Paran also won the Best Actor award for the same movie at the Nabunturan Indie Film Exhibition in Compostela Valley Province, Philippines.

The IFFM awards night was held Thursday at the Philippine Consulate in New York City.
