It will be the first marijuana resort on the Santee Sioux tribe reservation in Flandreau, South Dakota. The tribe is planning to grow its own marijuana and selling it in a smoking lounge on its reservation, according to tribal president Anthony Reider.
“We want it to be an adult playground,” tribal President Anthony Reider said. “There’s nowhere else in American that has something like this.”
The tribe says the project could generate up to $2 million a month in profit. The first joints are expected to go on sale December 31 at a New Year’s Eve party.
The tribe already has a successful casino, a 120-room hotel and a 240-head buffalo ranch.
