Fredricka Whitfield: CNN Anchor Comment on Gunman’s Actions (Plus Apology)

“It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff,” CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield said Saturday to legal analyst Philip Holloway.

Did she just applaud the “bravery” of a domestic terrorist for attacking the police? Or just poor choice of words, perhaps?

On Sunday afternoon, Whitfield very briefly addressed the incident. “I misspoke, and in no way believe the gunman was courageous, nor brave,” she said.
