Tennessee School Forced Boy To Shave Head

Did a school force boy to shave head? Adam Stinnett is just a seven-year-old boy who wants to sport an army-cut hairstyle. Adam adores his older brother Justin — a soldier who has served in Afghanistan. However, Adam’s school in Tennessee, the Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary School, thought that his army-cut hairstyle was a distraction. According to the report, the school forced his mom to shave the child’s head after sending a note home with Adam.

Adam’s mother, Amy Stinnett, says she told the school the haircut was not a Mohawk, that it was a military haircut. “Well, we’re not a military school and that it has to be cut or he cannot return to school until it is,” was the response Stinnett says was given to her by the school.

Bobby Ray Memorial was named in honor of a soldier from McMinnville who was killed in Vietnam.

“The school should be ashamed of themselves. Is the way I feel. They have shamed a lot of military personnel,” Amy told Fox 17 News. Seven-year-old Adam says he just wants his old haircut back. His mother just wants an apology and says she won’t rest until she gets one.
