New Program Descriptions

COMEDY

“Jane the Virgin”
Based on a Venezuelan telenovela, a religious Latina woman (Gina Rodriguez) is accidentally artificially inseminated. Jaime Camil, Yael Groblas, Brett Dier and Ryan Devlin also star.

DRAMA

“The Flash”
Spun-off from “Arrow,” scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is given the power of super speed after a freak accident that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive (aka “The Flash”). “The Flash” is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter (all from “Arrow”). Nutter directed the pilot from a script by Berlanti, Kreisberg and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.

“The Messengers” (midseason)
Written by “Teen Wolf’s” Eoghan O’Donnell and executive produced by “The Good Wife’s” Ted Humphrey and Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk for CBS TV, “The Messengers” focuses on a group of strangers (Diogo Morgado, Joel Courtney and Sofia Black-D’Elia) who die from an energy pulse after a mysterious object crashes to Earth — only to reawaken to learn that they may have saved the planet.

“iZombie” (midseason)
Based on the DC Comics title, a med student-turned zombie takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. The cast includes Alexanda Krosney, David Anders, Robert Buckley, Nora Dunn, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli and Rose McIver.
