Paul Anthony Ciancia: LAX Shooting Suspect Identified

Paul Anthony Ciancia has been identified as the suspect in the LAX shooting that killed a TSA officer and injured others on Friday morning, November 1st.

The Associated Press reported that Ciancia, 23, from Pennsville, New Jersey used an assault rifle to open fire inside the Los Angeles International Airport.

A law enforcement official, who was briefed at LAX on the investigation but not authorized to speak publicly, said the gunman was wearing fatigues and carrying a bag containing a hand-written note that said he “wanted to kill TSA and pigs.” The official requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.

A 40-year-old TSA officer was pronounced dead at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, reported CBS Los Angeles. Officials said that seven people were treated for injuries as a result of the incident.

The suspect was in custody and being treated for injuries.
