Sunday Night Football Beats Baseball League Championship Series in 16 Years

Sunday_night_footballHere are the Sunday TV ratings results: Keep in mind that the fast-affiliate Nielsens that came in at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT are not time zone-adjusted and typically understate live NFL telecasts. Despite that, NBC is currently #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox all key measures in the fast-affiliate ratings – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

In metered-market results, which are time zone-adjusted, NBC Sports’ coverage of last night’s Washington Redskins-Dallas Cowboys game averaged a 13.5 rating, 22 share in metered-market households from 8:30- 11:30 p.m. ET.

This is the best metered-market household rating for an NFL primetime game versus a baseball League Championship Series in 16 years (since Oct. 13, 1997, 16.4, Dallas-Washington, ABC)

NBC’s 13.5 rating for Redskins-Cowboys in metered-market households is up 7% from the year-ago week-six game (12.6 for Packers-Texans on Oct. 14, 2012) and up 21% versus the 2011 week-six game (11.2 for Vikings-Bears on Oct. 16, 2011).

Top local markets were: Dallas, 35.5 rating, 52 share; Washington, 34.1/52; Richmond, 32.7/45; Norfolk, 25.4/35; and San Antonio, 25.1/39
