Pope: Atheists Who Do Good Also Redeemed by God (VIDEO)

Pope Francis
Can atheists be saved by God? Are we all, believers and atheists, redeemed by Jesus?

“The commandment that Jesus gave us is to do good. Therefore violence in the name of religion is not legitimate. And redemption concerns everyone, not just those who believe in Jesus,” said Pope Francis in his homily at a Thursday morning mass.

The Pope said that the Lord redeemed all of us, not just Catholics, with the Blood of Christ. Everyone! Even the atheists. And this Blood makes us first class children of God! We are created children in the likeness of God and the Blood of Christ has redeemed us all!”

Pope Francis said this means “we all have a duty to do good. This commandment for everyone to do good, I think, is a beautiful path towards peace.”

“We must meet one another doing good, but to those who say “But I don’t believe. I’m an atheist”, we must still do good,” concluded the Pope.
