Cicadas and Invaders 2013 TV Show on Science Channel

As billions of the Brood II cicadas now rise from the earth sweeping across the eastern U.S., Science Channel is bringing viewers everything they need to know about how to survive one of nature’s greatest natural marvels during the special one night programming event CICADAS AND INVADERS 2013 premiering Sunday, May 26 beginning at 8 PM ET/PT with SWARM CHASERS followed at 9 PM ET/PT with the world premiere of CICADAS AND INVADERS 2013.

Science Channel’s genius generalists and STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW podcaster giants Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant, along with renowned Science Channel expert and University of Maryland entomologist Michael Raupp will be on hand throughout the evening with “Cicada Data”. Josh, Chuck and Professor Raupp examine cicadas in the heart of their natural habitat in central North Carolina, giving viewers an up close examination of the cicada phenomenon. They’ll be describing what to expect, how long the bugs will be flying about, the cicada lifecycle, cicada recipes, natural cicada predators and more.

Beginning at 8 PM ET/PT Science Channel will unveil the network premiere of SWARM CHASERS, a one-hour special about the ultimate bug horde – locusts. Since the dawn of man swarms of this three-brained creature, often numbering in the billions, have frightened humanity by devouring everything in their path. Now, leading scientists are on a mission to find out more about locusts to help end the mighty bug’s destructive behavior.

Immediately following, the world premiere of Science Channel’s CICADAS AND INVADERS 2013, debuts from 9-11 PM ET/PT, and counts down the world’s wildest swarms of arachnids, bugs, mammals, fish and other creatures that run rampant in our world. Experts and witnesses to these hair-raising hordes weigh-in with surprising facts, remarkable footage and the science behind the immense number of creatures that make your skin crawl. Who will be #1?
