10 Band Members Die In Crash In Northern Mexico

Los integrantes de La Reyna de MonterreyA fatal accident between a van and a trailer Extra was reported Saturday morning April 27 in Monterrey-Laredo highway with a toll of 10 people dead and five others wounded.

The victims of the tragedy were identified as members of the musical group La Reyna de Monterrey, who traveled from the city of Nuevo Laredo to the capital of Nuevo Leon.

The accident occurred at 7:00 am at the height of 107 km between the towns of Vallecillo and Sabinas Hidalgo, when the driver of the van lost control hitting a tractor with pipe, which caused the vehicle to be projected into the opposite lane and hit a trailer.

The incident was reported to the emergency services of the municipality of Sabinas Hidalgo. The remains of the victims have yet to be identified, and were brought by the Forensic Medical Service units at University Hospital amphitheater.

Most members of the group are from the state of Guanajuato, while the singers are from the municipality of Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon.

One of the singers is the son of Cyril Moon Franco, a member of the duo El Palomo and The Sparrow, who came to the scene, reporting that his son was taken to a hospital in the municipality of Sabinas Hidalgo with multiple fractures in legs and hips, not life-threatening.
