After wearing a pro-NRA shirt to school, an 8th grader in West Virginia had a confrontation with his teacher over the dress code and found himself suspended and jailed, the Christian Science Monitor reported April 21.

The student, Jared Marcum, wore a pro-NRA T-shirt to Logan Middle School that depicted a rifle and the words “protect your right.”

Marcum and his teacher had a confrontation about the shirt’s gun image and school dress code.

School officials deemed the NRA T-shirt a violation of the Logan County School District dress code, which bans profanity, discrimination, or violence on clothing.
