Tim Tebow Cancels Speech At First Baptist Church of Dallas (VIDEO)

The New York Jets quarterback, Tim Tebow, decided to cancel his speech at the controversial First Baptist Church of Dallas in April. While Tebow has spoken at other churches in the past, the scheduling of this particular event sparked days of controversy. He was originally supposed to speak at the megachurch on April 28.

Robert Jeffress is the controversial pastor of the church whose views on other religions and homosexuality have drawn outrage in recent years.

First Baptist Church responded to Tebow’s cancellation in a statement.

“Mr. Tebow called Dr. Jeffress Wednesday evening saying that for personal and professional reasons he needed to avoid controversy at this time, but would like to come to First Baptist Dallas to speak at a future date,” the statement read.
