Delaware CourthouseUpdate: 2 women dead plus the gunman, 2 others wounded
Authorities in Delaware responded Monday morning to reports of gunshots fired inside the New Castle County Courthouse, Delaware Online reports. Two women, including the shooter’s estranged wife, were fatally wounded in the incident. Two police officers were also transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities say the shooter — identified as 45-year-old David Matusiewicz — is dead, NBC Philadelphia reports.

Several people were shot Monday morning at a courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware, including a constable, according to Wilmington Police spokesman Jamaine Crawford.

A constable is an official with duties similar to a sheriff but more limited in power and jurisdiction.

The shooting occurred at the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas.

The number of injured and the severity of their injuries were not immediately available. The police chief of Wilmington was scheduled to be in Philadelphia on Monday to attend a roundtable discussion about gun safety. Vice President Joe Biden, law enforcement officials and members of Congress were expected to be there.
