Winter Storm Orko Comes to Midwest Saturday

ski_ncenAfter storm Nemo, here comes winter Storm Orko that will hit the Midwest staring Saturday night to Sunday, bringing a swath of heavy snow and strong winds. Orko is expected to dump snow totals of 6 to 12 inches, with local amounts over one foot, from portions northern/western Nebraska to South Dakota, eastern North Dakota, northern/central Minnesota, and far northwest Wisconsin.

According to the Weather channel, gusty winds will accompany the snow and reduce visibility, resulting in possible blizzard conditions at times. As a result, travel will be dangerous Saturday night into Sunday and early Monday on these stretches of interstates:

Parts of I-80 in western Nebraska and Wyoming
I-90 in South Dakota
I-94 in eastern North Dakota/Minnesota
I-29 in the eastern Dakotas
