Sleeping Judge Resigns After Caught in a VIDEO
A young judge in Russia, Yevgeny Makhno, took a nap during the hearing and then delivered the judgement when he woke up. The incident occurred in a local court in Blagoveshchensk in the Far East of Russia.
The judge fell asleep leaning back in his chair, his head falling on the shoulder. In the background you can hear the voice of the lawyer. Naletowa Andrei, the accused was sentenced by the judge Makhno supervision for five years for fraud. Judgment has been recorded just after a hearing at which the judge was asleep. The convicted man demands the withdrawal of judgment.
According to reports, a new trial is set on Feb. 14. Judge Yevgeny Makhno issued his resignation. “The Judges Qualification Panel accepted Makhno’s resignation from his judge’s post,” regional judge and panel member Valentina Pozharskaya told state news agency RIA Novosti.
