Deion’s Daughter Bikini League, Dad Kinda Upset

Hall of Fame football player, Deion Sanders, was “kind of upset” to know her daughter, Deiondra Sanders, has agreed to play in the upstart Bikini Basketball League this season.

“My dad was kind of upset, but that’s like any parent who just sees bikini league,” Deiondra told Jeff Sammut of 590 The Fan in Toronto. “He thought I was gonna be out there in a bikini. He [saw] a picture of our uniform and stuff like that, so I think once he saw that we’re actually covered up a little bit, he wasn’t as concerned.”

Se also wants to make a name for herself:

“I like playing basketball so I’m enjoying doing it. But eventually I hope it does lead to making my name bigger as a person so I can actually have a voice — a positive voice. Because so far the negative’s [been] portrayed. But I want to have a positive voice. I hope this actually leads to … that.”

The league will begin play on June 1st, 2013 with eight teams including the Atlanta Peaches, Chicago Crave, Los Angeles Ice, Miami Spice, Orlando Lady Cats, Minnesota Mist, Illinois Heart, and Philadelphia Diamonds.
