Sean Hannity Ratings Suffer After Election
Sean Hannity’s TV ratings suffered in great numbers after GOP challenger Mitt Romney lost to President Barack Obama in the 2012 election.
According to Nielsen numbers, Hannity lost around half of his audience in the weeks after the election, while his Fox News colleague Bill O’Reilly — who steadfastly refuses to identify himself politically as a conservative — retained around 70% of his audience.
So what happened to Hannity?
The going wisdom is that viewers who basked in his preelection anti-Obama rhetoric tuned him out when they were stunned to wake up on Nov. 7 and discover that the President had won a second term — a scenario that Hannity had all but promised could never happen.
Before the election, Hannity was riding high in the ratings and topped thought leaders on the right, like Dick Morris, Ann Coulter, Peggy Noonan and talk radio bulldog Mark Levin, who predicted Obama would lose in a landslide.
Hannity held onto less than half his preelection audience.
Way to go Sean !!! You got exactly what you deserve. Hopefully very soon you’ll lose the other half. I guess people are starting to figure out that you are full of sht. It’s very sad to think of the damage you and your contemporary commentators have wreaked on this nation. You have helped to damage our credibility on the world scene. Good thing we have Obama. The rest of the world respects him. F u.
put simply refer Mr. Hannity to 2 Bob Dylan songs : ‘The times
they are a’changing’ and ‘Blowing in the wind’. Ann Coulter certainly shot the Right in the leg and Dick Morris anywhere near a tv studio was downright recklessness! in short, neocons : you cant even con yourselves any longer…
NOW THIS IS GOOD NEWS-HANNITY LOSING 1/2 OF HIS BASE. BEST WAY TO START A NEW YEAR AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED!!!!!!!!!
My take on Hannity is that he is the single person on FOX News Channel that gives it a bad name. I am an Independent that is Right of Center and I cannot stand anyone that is far left or far right. He never gives anyone a chance to answer the complete question. I would personally like to see him leave that important time slot and bring in two people with different view points to cover the Political News. I like Bill O. But, he is another one that does interrupt answers many times and I am beginning to loose interest in him. However, I think Mitt Romney made a huge political mistake by not coming on his show for at leat 3 segments throughout the campaigne. I doubt if the GOP in the future will make that mistake if that show is still on Primetime.
Hannity and Billy O. both over played their hand during the recent Presidential election. They were so off balance siding for Romney (or anyone against Obama) they could not objectively see the results as they transended. K. Roves’ behaviour during the night of the elction is exactly why I no longer watch O’Rielly…what a let down.. The Republicans need to start over, clean their house removing the old baggage and bring in some new blood with a better understanding of the challenges of “regular” Americans vs the constant I am superior and aligning with the top wage earners.
Isn’t having one of the most polarizing people on TV, spouting his disapproved opinions the dumbest use of broadcast time possible? Fox has never been subtle about its opinions, but when the presentation is ” You’re all stupid and I’ll tell you why.”, I wouldn’t look for an improved fan base. As a Massachusetts voter and dis- satisfied Obama elector, I told a conservative friend in AZ, that the only way they should fail to defeat Obama, would be selecting Romney as their candidate.
Sean pretty much presents as disgusted with democracy and thinks a conservative occupy wall street makes sense.
It appears that some don’t like the shout down the opposition format, and can determine their validity by Seans vitriol level.
Logic, common sense and valid arguments are clearly not welcome here. Thinking that testements from O’Reilly,Miller,Goldberg,Beck or Limbaugh actually support anything said being factual is stretching the term “Fair and Balanced” well beyond anyone’s imagination.
Listen to Rush and then get a carbon copy with Hannity. I believe Hannity has someone takes notes on Rush’s program. Same old stuff day after day. Nothing mentioned about breaking serious world news re: Iran’s bombs, Syria’s chemical weapons, etc. Their commentary gets old. That is the reason me, and I feel many others, are recording pod casts to listen to on our MP3 players so we can get good insight to what is really going on. But then, Rush and Hannity have to much money to lose if they get back to their old original broadcast ways of yesteryear.
