iPhone 5 Cellular Data Bug and Fix From Verizon

If you are an iPhone 5 user under a Verizon plan, you may have likely experiencing the cellular problem that is currently encountered by many other users! Verizon customers are complaining about the huge amounts of cellular data deducted even though they are connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Apple already confirmed the issue to CNNMonney and said that it has been caused by a bug.

Verizon also issued a fix to the bug. Verizon are advised to read their mobile phone bills carefully this month and to download Apple’s update ASAP. Follow these steps:

1. Touch Settings, then General, then About.
2. A pop-up balloon that says “Carrier Settings Updated” should appear. Touch OK.
3. Wait for the update to install.
4. Once installation is complete, turn your phone off and then on again in order for it to go into effect.

To check your usage on your iPhone: Go into Settings, then General, then Usage, then Cellular Usage to see how much data you’ve used so far in your cycle.
