Michael Phelps Adds 18th Olympic Gold Medal on U.S. 400 Medley

It seems like the 17 Olympic gold medals was not enough for Michael Phelps! The U.S. swimmer added another gold medal to his name in the London Olympic 400 medley relay Saturday. Phelps can now retire with 22 career Olympic medals – a staggering 18 of them gold.

The American team — Phelps, Matt Grevers, Brendan Hansen, and Nathan Adrian — won with a time of 3:29.35. Japan (3:31.26) took the silver medal and Australia (3:31.58). captured the bronze.
