Cesaria Evora Dead – Barefoot Diva Dies at 70

Barefoot diva, Cesaria Evora, is dead at age 70. The 2003 Granmmy winner who performed without shoes, died in the Baptista de Sousa Hospital in Mindelo, on her native island of Sao Vicente in Cape Verde.

Evora was diagnosed with heart problems in 2005. She suffered strokes in 2008 and in September 2011, when she announced she was retiring.

She won a Grammy in the World Music category of the 2003 awards for her album “Voz D’Amor”.
