Vocal Chord Hemorrhage Caused Adele U.S. Tour 2011 Cancellation

The Adele U.S. Tour 2011 has been cancelled due to Adele’s illness — Vocal Chord Hemorrhage. The singer announced “I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully or I risk damaging my voice forever.”

Rolling Stone:

For the second time this year, Adele has been forced to scratch tour dates due to issues involving her vocal chords. Her U.S. dates were scheduled to begin on Friday, October 7th in Atlantic City, New Jersey and continue through October 21st in Grand Prairie, Texas, but she has canceled her entire upcoming sold-out run, effective immediately. Coming off a successful U.K. tour, Adele’s doctors diagnosed her with a vocal chord hemorrhage, as she experienced earlier this year, and they have advised her that she will need an extended period of rest in order to fully recuperate.

“Singing is literally my life. It’s my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job,” said Adele in a statement released by her record label, Columbia. “I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully or I risk damaging my voice forever.”
