Venus Williams Exits U.S. Open 2011 Games

Sad for the American tennis player, Venus Williams. The ailing star exited the U.S. Open 2011 before she was due on court at Arthur Ashe Stadium for her second-round match against No. 22 Sabine Lisicki.

Venus won her first-round match easily over Vesna Dolonts.

Venus also announced that she has been diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes fatigue and joint pain.

Venus’ statement: I am really disappointed to have to withdraw from this year’s U.S. Open, I have recently been diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome.
