Petra Kvitova defeats Maria Sharapova and Wins Wimbledon 2011

No. 8 Petra Kvitova defeated former no. 1 Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-4 in the Wimbledon 2011 women’s final Saturday.

The 21-year-old Kvitova is the first left-handed woman to win the Wimbledon title since Martina Navratilova in 1990.
