Jo Wilfried Tsonga Defeats Roger Federer

The mighty 6-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer is out of the game. Jo Wilfried Tsonga defeated Federer 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 4-6, 4-6 in 3 hours and 8 minutes of the quarter-final event.

“It was just amazing today, I played unbelievable,” Tsonga says. “I’m so happy. It’s crazy. He’s the biggest champion in my sport and the best player in the world.”

Tsonga next faces Novak Djokovic in the semi-final, who beat 18-year-old Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic.

Other quarter final games today: Defending champion Rafael Nadal vs. Mardy Fish, and No. 4 Andy Murray vs. Feliciano Lopez.
