Most Popular Video Games Website is IGN.com

IGN.com gets the honor of the Most Popular Video Games Website. The Guinness World Records officially confirmed the title at the 2011 E3 Expo in Los Angeles, the world’s premier event for the video games industry.

Thanks to its loyal audience of gamers around the globe, IGN.com was awarded the title “most popular video games website” based on its audited comScore figure for February 2011, attracting 20,516,000 readers to IGN.com alone – almost two million readers ahead of its nearest competitor.

IGN’s award will be featured alongside other video game-related records in the upcoming Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2012, slated for launch internationally in January 2012.

Tal Blevins, VP of Game Content, IGN Entertainment, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with this recognition from Guinness World Records, and we’re honored to share it with our millions of loyal readers around the globe.”

Gaz Deaves, Editor, Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition, added: “IGN.com user figures speak for themselves, and the site’s millions of loyal readers have earned it a well-deserved place in the Guinness World Records archives.”

For the past 21 consecutive months, IGN.com has ranked as the #1 gaming information site, reaching the highest concentration of men 18-34 and 1 in 4 men online. IGN.com also pulls in two-times more video views than any other games site (comScore).
