James Arness Gunsmoke Actor Died

Gunsmoke actor James Arness died on Friday at age 88. He died of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles, family spokesman Ginny Fazer tells the Los Angeles Times.

James Arness played as Matt Dillon, the marshal of Dodge City. CBS western series “Gunsmoke” debuted in 1955, ran for 20 years and inspired five TV movies.
