University of Connecticut Defeats Butler University

The University of Connecticut proved they are the team to beat. Last night, the UConn Huskies defeated the Butler Bulldogs by 12 points, 53 to 41 on Monday night and claimed the NCAA basketball national championship title in Houston. This is UConn’s third national title since 1999.

Coach Jim Calhoun is now the fifth coach in men’s college basketball history to win three or more NCAA championships.

The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team will return to Gampel Pavilion in Storrs for a Championship Pep Rally. The doors to Gampel Pavilion will open at approximately 5 p.m. and the team is expected to arrive in Storrs at approximately 5:30 p.m.
